Checking In and Catching Up

For all of you who are sick of checking my blog and seeing my feet - my sincerest apologies! Yes, I've been busy, and yes, having two children instead of just one does make a difference. Obviously. So, once again, I will try to catch up over the next few weeks.

For now, here are a few pictures from April. I was finally able to catch Canaan smiling on film on Easter, and since then, he's grown into quite a smiley baby.

The Friday after Easter, Gideon had to get another set of tubes in his ears and have his adenoids removed. The surgery went well, but it was a little traumatic afterwards. His speech was severely affected for a few days - a side effect the doctors neglected to warn me about - and it sounded like he was holding his nose plugged while talking after sucking in helium from a whole balloon, if you can imagine that combo. It returned to normal after a week or so, but he also developed a high fever and borderline pneumonia a few days after as a result of the anesthesia. Despite the drama, the procedure was a success. We can no longer hear him snoring from downstairs, and he seems to be breathing much better. It was quite an improvement!

Finally, here are a few pictures from around Mother's Day. One of my requests for Mother's Day is usually some pictures of me and my kiddos, so Jason took us to the park one day and went to town with his camera. He took over a hundred, I'm sure, and I may post more later, but for now, here are just a few:

More excitement coming soon!
