One Month Old

Time has flown once again! Canaan is now one month old, and it has been the quickest month ever! We haven't done much over the past few weeks, and I have enjoyed just staying home with my boys and taking it easy. Canaan is definitely an easy baby - very quiet, cries only when hungry or dirty (mostly), and is also sleeping pretty well at night too. The most difficult thing with him has been that he seems to be more of a "snacker" than an "eater" at times. He has a hard time staying awake for a full feeding and seems content just to drift off to sleep after only a few minutes of nursing. It's getting better though, and he's gaining plenty of weight, so I'm not too worried about it.

Here are a few snapshots of my boys from the past few weeks. I will say that my favorite feature of Canaan's (so far) is his skin. He has the most beautiful coloring! Plus, he's still got that newborn feel to him, so it really wouldn't matter if he were purple, I'd still want to kiss those cheeks and snuggle up next to him! :-)

Gideon is so sweet with his little brother. He often stops playing just to go over and pat Canaan's head, and a couple of times, I've caught him kissing his head too. (He likes how soft Canaan's hair is.) He brings me diapers and wipes, has dubbed himself keeper of the pacifier, and sometimes pushes me out of the way so he can get to Canaan first when he starts crying.

In other Gideon news, here he is playing a duet with cousin Lacy during a play date the other day.

Wrestling with the dog...

With the "prince" craft he made at church...

And shaving?!...

  • Em,

Both your boys are so precious! I am really so happy for you. I can't wait until Brooklyn is here and we can get all the kiddos together again. What chaos that will be!!! But fun too.
