Go Fish Groupie

The past few weeks have been crazy-busy, as you can tell by my lack of blogging. I've finally transitioned from Trimester 1 to Trimester 2 and it has made a world of difference!! No more "questionable" feelings every time I eat, don't eat, or think about either. And, as an added Tri2 bonus, I felt the baby move for the first time last week. I just love that feeling, almost like having a little goldfish swimming around your stomach.

But rather than rehash the past six weeks, I'll just try to take these updates one at a time over the next week or so and pretend I didn't completely neglect my little blog at all!

For today's update, here is the highlight of our June month:

We got to go see Gideon's favorite singing group - the Go Fish Guys! Hands down, they beat the Wiggles, the Veggies, the Doodlebops, and every other cheesy kids' singing group out there. They are a group of just three guys who sing awesome Christian music for kids, and I wouldn't categorize them as cheesy at all. Their music actually has substance to it (and they were even nominated for a Dove Award last year, but were CHEATED out of winning - uh, I mean, they lost to other wonderful Christian artists...)

They also have one DVD out, and it has always been the only thing Gideon ever requests to watch on TV. In fact, one of their songs, The Ten Commandment Boogie, is how he learned how to count to ten!

He was so excited about getting to see the guys in person. He even got to stand in a long line after the concert with Grandma and Granddad and get their autographs on his brand new CD! And, as if that wasn't enough, he got a flag to wave during their song, American Kid, and a light to shine during, This Little Light. It was worth every minute of our hour-long drive across town just to see his face!

  • Em,
Gideon is getting so big! 2 years went by fast, didn't they? It looks like ya'll had a lot of fun at the concert. We are waiting on the Little Einsteins to come to town because that is about the only thing Cooper likes to watch. See ya later.
