Seven Random Facts

I was "tagged" a long time ago by a fellow blogger. The assignment is to blog seven random facts about you and to pass on the assignment to other bloggers. So, since I still don't have pix to post, here are seven random things about me:

1. I started writing my first book at age 10 with my BFF of the day, Kim. It was called The Fabulous Two. Kim and I lost touch with each other for over 15 years, but by divine intervention, we found each other again last year. Could this mean the return of The Fabulous Two? We'll see... Stay tuned to find out.

2. Though I love reading most genres, I have never been much of a magazine reader. However, now that I'm a mom, I've turned to parent type magazines, and I'm loving it. I have a feeling this could be the beginning of a beautiful relationships with magazines of all sorts...

3. I love audiobooks. Most people save this form of reading for vacations and roadtrips alone. Not me. I like listening to them on any random day. It makes commuting so much more enjoyable! And, with my new minivan came a new six CD changer which means much more ease for my listening enjoyment!

4. I also love libraries. I worked in one during college, have volunteered in several, and currently have at least four library cards in my wallet. Just this year I have discovered the Hold feature with our local libraries. You can login online, search the entire system's catalog, and have whatever you want shipped to your local library and held for pick up. What a time saver! It makes the inner nerd in me very happy!

5. I have A.D.D. when it comes to writing. My current "Books I'd like to write" list has about 26 ideas on it. Of those, probably 5 or 6 are definite possibilities for my next project, and they range from fiction to nonfiction, young adult to adult, and stand alone books to series books. I'm praying about what to tackle next, but it changes from day to day. (Does this mean God is suggesting multi-tasking?!)

6. I organize and brainstorm best by making excel spreadsheets. Apparently, I am 50% left-brained and 50% right-brained, so you never know which personality will be dominant at any given time.

7. Finally, (so there is at least one non reading/writing related random fact), I have one hidden talent: I ride a unicycle. (Though my current one needs a new tire, so it's been awhile.)

That's it. Seven random things you really didn't ask to know about me. And, unfortunately, all but one of my blogger friends have already done this, so all I can tag is Robin.
