A Different Baby

Gideon is nine months old today, and in the past few weeks he has reached so many different milestones, it's almost as if we have a different baby now! He can now: 1. drink from a straw 2. feed himself small pieces of food 3. pull himself up to a stand and 4. crawl (though he still prefers scooting most of the time). I know these are not Nobel prize worthy developments or anything, but when your life centers around a new little person, it's pretty exciting. Plus, just today I felt the tiny sharp edges of his first little tooth poking through his gums!

This past week we got to have some fun with his cousins on Jason's side. His sister was in town with her three boys, so we had an impromptu photo shoot of all the boys together. It scares me to think of the potential for mischief these photos hold!

And because I couldn't resist the opportunity, here are a few of Gideon showing off his new skills of sitting and standing.

In other news, we are very excited because we finally closed on our old house! Though we've known it was sold for awhile now, it's still stressful juggling two houses until the deal is finally done. Jason was having to take care of two yards weekly, and he had to fix a few things in the old house before we closed. All of that was taking precious time away from here, so I'm glad to finally have him back. When we went over there to do the walk through with the couple who bought it, I unexpectedly broke down crying because I was having to say goodbye to our first home. (You just thought an old Saturn could stir up the emotions; that was nothing!) I could write a whole entry about saying goodbye to Misty Bay Dr., and maybe someday I will. But for now, I'll spare you the sentiment and leave you with our final thought after closing kept getting pushed back for over a week: good riddance!!

As for the new house, I know I promised pictures and updates... They're still coming! I've just been waiting to finish a few small things, then I can take pictures of it all at once. Someday soon. I promise...
