Emily's Theory of Relativity
Based on my "experience" as a mom, (all 7 1/2 months of it), I have come up with a very scientific theory that I would like to share. I've noticed my whole life that moms around the world always say that their baby is the cutest baby ever. Imagine my surprise when I had Gideon and discovered that they were all wrong. It turns out that I was the chosen one. I was the one mom who, indeed, did have the cutest baby alive! How blessed and honored I felt!
Shockingly, it turns out that not everyone agreed with me, so I had to discover some evidence and do some research in order to back my claim. Here it goes...
I read an article once a few years back about attraction. In this particular study, a select group of people was shown photos of others of the opposite sex and asked to label each one as "attractive" or "unattractive." What the study group did not know was that a photo had been taken of themselves and digitally altered to look like a person of the opposite sex. For example, my photo would be taken and altered to look like a man with my features. In almost all cases, the people in the group labeled these computer generated photos as "attractive." The conclusion of the study - most people find themselves attractive and are also attracted to people who look similar to them.
I find this study easy to believe. Sure there are the rare "oddball" couples, but for the most part, I see couples everyday who look like each other. Which leads me to my theory...
If someone who finds themselves attractive marries someone who looks like them (who is also attractive), and they produce a child who looks like both of them, obviously they are going to find that child attractive!
So, I can say scientifically that Gideon is the cutest baby in the world because he looks half like me (who I subconsciously find attractive) and half like Jason (who I apparently find attractive because he looks like me)! So when I say that Gideon is the cutest baby in the world, I totally believe it...as I'm sure you do when you say that about your own child. And now you know "scientifically" why you believe it too!
And at last, here are some updated pics of the cutest baby alive...
My first Easter basket...

My first time meeting an Easter bunny...

Happy Easter, indeed!

Mommy loves to spike my hair. I gotta humor her!

It's tough being the world's cutest baby. Good thing it comes so naturally!
