Exciting Book News

In taking a break from baby news, I thought I'd update everyone on the status of my book. (Click here to see its official online listing at the publisher.) In the past month or so, things have really begun picking up in preparation for the book's release in October. My editor sent me the proofs last week, and everything looks great! Here is the gist of what the cover of the book will look like:

She also let me know that it was displayed at the International Christian Retail Show (ICRS) in Denver in July. (It's an annual convention for book sellers, book buyers, authors, music, and all things associated with Christian retail.) The publisher who distributes all of the books for Discovery House - Barbour Publishing - devoted one whole shelf to the book in their booth!

This was especially exciting for me to see because I had been thinking/praying back in July when the ICRS was going on - "Wow, God, it would be awesome to someday have a book promoted in the show somehow... but for now I will totally be content to just allow this writing venture to progress slowly and on Your timetable." Little did I know that He was already at work! Just proof that He is already answering our prayers before we even pray them sometimes!

The official audience for this book is single women, however I know that not all of you fit that category. Don't worry - this is NOT a book about dating, preparing for marriage, or "how to be single." Rather than it being yet another book about a godly woman who teaches us how to live as singles, it is a book about a single woman who teaches us how to be godly. That being said, we can all learn a thing or two from the heroine of the book - Jephthah's daughter, whose little known story is found in Judges 11. It is a Bible study, above all else, and whether you're married, single, male, or female, I think everyone should have the honor of discovering this awesome woman in Scripture!
