Baby Shower Highlights

Jason and I have been very fortunate to have some pretty amazing showers thrown for us in our past, and I must say that they always humble and amaze me! Our baby shower was no different. It was held two weeks ago at our church, and before I go any farther, I just want to say publicly how thankful I am to all of the hostesses who helped organize it. My sister-in-law, Sharla, got the ball rolling a few months back, and several friends and family members jumped in to help. They did an awesome job, and I am so blessed to have every single one of them in my life! I know these type of events can be a headache at times, so thank you, thank you, thank you!

These are all of the wonderful hostesses...

Finally, here is a picture of me and my sister. We have a picture of me leaning on her big belly when she was pregnant with her first, so she decided to carry on the tradition.

As you can see, the shower was awesome! After it was over, my nephews came up to the church with Granddad, and 3-year-old Carsten asked me where Baby Gideon was! He seemed pretty confused because he knew his mom was at a "shower," so he just finally concluded that "Baby Gideon needed a bath!"

And, aside from all of the wonderful gifts we received - from homemade quilts to clothes to just about everything off our registry - another highlight of the shower was finding out that my sister-in-law, Sharla, is also pregnant with her third! More cousins for Gideon - yeah!! And, the following week, my sister, Meghan, learned that her little-one-on-the-way is a little girl - which will give her two daughters about the same age apart as she and I are! And, as if that's not enough, just last night, my sister-in-law, Chrissy, told us all that she, too, is pregnant with her second! So Gideon is not even here yet, and he already has three more cousins on the way! Wow! There must be something in the water!
