The Nursery!
This is what you see from the doorway. Obviously, the empty picture frames will be filled with pictures of our little boy once he is here! The verse on this wall is Psalm 139:13-14 "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made." It is one of my favorite verses!! (And the black and white dog painted in the middle of the wall...Yes, that is a tribute to our family pup, Ranger. Somehow, he always seems to be in the middle of everything!) :-)
This is the second wall. It says, "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity." 1 Timothy 4:12. On this wall, you can really see the border well. I found some material that matched pretty well with the border in the bedding, then sewed it together in strips. We covered inch-thick foam and stapled it to wood in order to hang it on the wall, so you can't tell, but it's kind of 3-dimensional. Uncle Jesse helped us cut the wood and the trim pieces for the final touch.
This is the view from the crib. The toybox in the middle was Jason's toybox when he was young. We gave it face-lift though (literally) and painted it to look like a lion. Then we covered it with some fun, furry brown material so his mane is really soft!
Finally, this is the last wall. It has Judges 6:12 on it, "When the angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon he said, 'The Lord is with you, mighty warrior.'" That's what Gideon's name means: Mighty Warrior.
There you have it. Gideon's room is set up and all ready for him to enjoy. But until he gets here, I'll admit I go in his room and just sit in the rocker every now and then and enjoy it for the both of us! Hope you enjoyed it too!
