Dis' World

Well, we've been back from our Disney World vacation for over a month now, (or Dis' World, as Gideon calls it), but with Ike and everything else, I'm just now getting to sift through the photos. To give you the highlights, we decided to ask Jason's entire family to join us for a Disney World vacation this fall because this is the year that his parents will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary, and it seemed like a great way to celebrate. Plus, none of them had ever been to the happiest place on earth, and we thought that was just wrong! So, our group of eleven headed off to Florida for a week of total fun!

Here is Gideon meeting Mickey and Minnie for the first time. He was so excited to see Mickey in person! He walked right up to them and gave them hugs, kisses, high fives, and more hugs. I'll admit, it made me a little teary-eyed!

Here's Gideon in Mickey's garage. His two loves - tools and Mickey - all in one place!

He surprised us with his love of all the rides. No matter how fast a ride was, he always responded the same: "Do it again!" He rode everything from the flying elephants to a roller coaster to a very fast inner tube ride at the water park. And he loved them all! Here he is on his favorite ride, the tea cups, which we rode many times.

Gideon and Dallen, livin' the stroller life.

Discovering the larger-than-life Mr. and Mrs. "Toe-head"s back at the hotel.

Okay, it's impossible to take a cute family picture after days and days of walking around in a virtual sauna, but at least it proves we were there.

Gideon's second birthday just happened to fall on our last night together, so we all had dinner and birthday cake at "Chef Mickey's." Here's Gideon with Donald, and a fun picture of all the boys anticipating their sugar high.

Happy 40th Anniversary Grandma and Granddad. (We actually celebrated this event another night at a fancier restaurant, but I don't have that picture yet.)

Here is Gideon "enjoying" his last ride in the Magic Kingdom. The poor thing had so much excitement, he slept right through It's a Small World.

However, he quickly perked up when we got back to the hotel and discovered that Mickey himself had come into our room and left balloons and a personalized birthday card just for Gideon!

Our little boy definitely had the time of his life, and since we've been home, he's asked to go back to Dis' World almost every day!

  • if it's anything like Alexa's trip to disney, he'll still be asking a year later!! Some things they just don't seem to forget...in fact, she's saving up in her piggy bank so that we can go back...I think at last count we had $2.25 toward our trip...

  • Glad to see some pictures. Devin would have slept through It's a Small World too. I had to MAKE him ride it:)
