Enjoying the Fall
It's been awhile since the last post, but things are still going well in the Ryan household. The past few weeks have been busy, but that's really nothing new. In book news, I got through my scheduled radio interviews unscathed. It was a fun experience, but I never really got to hear when the interviews aired on the the different stations, so I have no idea how they sounded when it was all said and done. That's probably a good thing though, since if you're like me, you probably don't even like hearing your own voice on your answering maching; I can only imagine how hard it would be to hear it on the radio! I don't have any more scheduled until January. I was also able to do a couple of book signings at my church, and that was a fun experience as well. The best part was that a couple of people bought books for some of my friends who I haven't seen or heard from in years! It was neat to know that the books were going to someone I once knew and I loved getting to write a personal note in them and possibly reconnect with these girls after all these years! Here are some pictures from the evening:

In other news, "Baby Gideon" (as his cousins call him) is doing good. He's almost three months old now, and he's really starting to develop a little personality. He smiles a lot, especially when someone is talking to him. The other day, I was talking and he was cooing back to me, and I asked him a question and said, "Okay?" Jason and I could have sworn he answered, "Okay." back to me! It was quite funny and it only makes me realize that his days of talking for real are not as far off as they once seemed.

We've also learned that he is quite the go-getter. He loves to be out and about - running errands, riding in the car, visiting people. He's always so good. But, on days when we stay home, it's not quite as pretty. I guess he gets bored or something, so we've learned to spread out our outtings and at least get out for a little while when we can.
But, for those days when we can't get out and he gets fussy, here's what seems to work well - Music! That's no surprise, considering who his daddy is, but he really likes the music loud and I have to be dancing with him. I discovered this little trick because Jason gave me a Dance Praise for my birthday. (It's one of those dance mats that you plug into the computer, and then step on the appropriate arrows when the music and software tell you to. The only difference from it and what is found in arcades is that this one has all Christian music). Gideon was being really fussy one day and I happened to turn on the Dance Praise and start dancing with him and he loved it! Any time I would try to take a break, he would start crying again. It is quite the work out, but it is super fun! I recommend getting one for your kids for Christmas!!
I'll leave you with some pictures we took at the park. The weather has been so nice lately that we've spent a lot of time outside. Hope you enjoy and hope you had a great Thanksgiving!

Gideon is so sweet. I check your blog from time to time - my sister does too - just to keep up with all my "kids." Hope to see you before he's grown.
